Sailing trip with skipper: Sirmione and the Desenzano basin

Our skippers, wind lovers and professional sailors, will guide you across the calm waters of Lake Garda aboard their 9-meter sailboat, which can accommodate up to 7 passengers: a private experience of rare beauty that you can enjoy in total freedom.

The boat tour departs from the port of Desenzano and heads toward the center of Lake Garda, crossing the southern basin. You will have the chance to admire up close the enchanting Grotte di Catullo overlooking Jamaica Beach, then sail up the Sirmione peninsula all the way to its Castle.

After a few swimming stops to dive into the crystal-clear waters of Lake Garda, you'll sail along the Punta del Vò and admire the coastal hills of Valtenesi and its medieval castles, especially those of Padenghe and Moniga del Garda.

The morning outing includes a light lunch on board; during the afternoon excursion, instead, you’ll be offered a snack with local delicacies.

The skippers will take you to unique spots where you can enjoy a privileged view of Lake Garda.

How does the sailing cruise on Lake Garda work?

• Does the sailboat go far from the shore or stay at a safe distance from ports and beaches?
  To catch the right wind, the sailboat moves toward the center of the lake, but since it’s an enclosed body of water, the shore is always clearly visible and relatively close.

• What happens if there’s no wind? Will the outing be rescheduled?
  If the day is clear and only the wind is missing, it will still be possible to navigate using the motor, so the excursion will not be rescheduled. It will only be postponed if the weather or water safety conditions do not allow for a risk-free outing.

• Is it allowed to bring your own drinks and food on board (e.g., packed sandwiches, fruit, snacks)?
  Yes, you are welcome to bring anything you wish to enjoy during the tour. The skipper will also offer a glass of local Garda wine, unlimited water, and simple snacks from their galley—or a light lunch during the morning outing.

What to bring: swimming costume, bathing towel, hat and sun cream, closed-cell rock shoes or rubber shoes; windbreaker in cool, windy weather.
