Excursion with local wine guide: on the road, between taste and territory

An itinerant route through a hinterland of Lake Garda, that of Raffa, on the borders of Salò and San Felice del Benaco, enriched by centuries of history: an area characterised by a great variety of landscapes and territories, at the foot of Puegnago del Garda and its dominant medieval castle.

A local wine guide, a sommelier and expert connoisseur of the local food and wine excellences, will accompany you along scenic white roads and footpaths, in a 6-kilometre loop through the hills and organic olive groves of the Valtenesi. A walking route, to be experienced slowly, to fully enjoy the fascinating characteristics of the area.

This stimulating itinerary combines the exploration of the area with the tasting of local products. You will first visit a farm with organic production: you will taste the fine evo oil in its three main varieties, mono varietals and cuvées with an excellent technical presentation by the glass, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and fields of aromatic herbs.

On the way back, you will walk along a slightly uphill path to Puegnago Alta, from which you will enjoy an extraordinary view of Lake Garda. After a short break, you will reach the Cantina del Vino (Wine Cellar), where you will taste three wines selected from the various productions of Rosato Valtenesi, accompanied by a selection of typical local products.

An oenological experience presented in a setting of rare beauty: a historic palace in whose cellars you will taste the famous Chiaretto and experience the emotion of times gone by. At the end of the tasting you will resume your walk through the hills to your starting point.

A scenic, itinerant and enthralling route, along which you will be able to appreciate high qualitỳ food production, the fruit of skilful cultivation of vines and olives, and get to know the people who have transferred their souls to this area.

Hiking shoes with lugged soles and at least 500ml of water are recommended. During the summer season, sunglasses, a hat and sun cream are also strongly advised.

Easy, as the route is suitable for all healthy people who enjoy walking. However, it is not suitable for prams or pushchairs.
