Walking tour along the Sun Trail in Limone sul Garda

The route starts from the historic centre of Limone: we will visit the village, with its characteristic alleyways and flights of steps, and walk along its small harbour.

Between high walls, gardens and lemon groves, we reach the Gardesana road to take the Sentiero del Sole (Sun Trail): here, small rocky stretches alternate with wooded areas from where panoramic views of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains open up.

We will walk through channels formed by landslides, encounter some old reservoirs used to collect rainwater and some military posts from the Great War. On this part of the route, the guide will tell you about the most important events that took place there at the beginning of the 20th century.

Having passed the guard posts and a First World War bunker, we begin our descent towards the Gardesana road, until we take the new cycle path, built overhanging the lake.

We will walk along it in both directions, having the feeling of being suspended over the lake, and then continue to the starting point. Before reaching it, however, we will stop at one of the country's most beautiful beaches, framed by wild fig trees and old lemon groves. There we can dive or simply dip our feet into its crystal-clear waters.

Backpack, water, hiking shoes, rain gear, snacks and packed lunch are recommended; hat and sunscreen during the hot season.

Medium, ideal for people who already have some hiking experience. The positive altitude difference is 350 metres, distributed over a 10 km route.
