Description
Accompanied by a beekeeper and suitably protected, you will visit an apiary to learn about life inside the hive and explore the stages from pollination to the production of honey, wax and propolis.
The opening of a beehive will reveal to you the complex organisation of the hive, characterised by precise rules, a strict hierarchy and an extraordinary work of coordination in which each bee plays its assigned role with extreme efficiency.
Stefano, a passionate beekeeper, will show you not only how to recognise the queen bee, worker bees and drones, but also how they interact with each other to ensure the survival of the whole swarm.
Observing the beehive you can ascertain the proverbial industriousness of these animals, engaged depending on the season in pollinating, collecting, processing and storing nectar and pollen, the basis for the production of honey, wax, royal jelly and propolis.
An experience that will open the doors to one of the most fascinating kingdoms of the animal world; an opportunity to learn about the life of these pollinating animals and to understand how you can contribute to their protection, as fundamental parts of the ecosystem in which we live.
