Description
A creative workshop to introduce you to fresco painting, one of the oldest and most complex artistic painting techniques. Immersed in the eclectic and stimulating context of an art studio, you will be guided through the various stages of a fresco, from the preparatory phase of the support to be painted to the most expressive phase of the final painting. Your hosts, Maria Luisa and Salvatore, professional artists with various collaborations on the international scene, will welcome you into their finely restored studio.
In the first part of the workshop you will be engaged in the creation of a fresh plaster wall fragment, which is the most important layer of the entire fresco on which you will paint. Following this, you will create the preparatory drawing cardboard, which will be applied to the plaster using the ancient spolvero technique, allowing you to have a trace to follow in the final brush painting phase. At the end of the session you will have the satisfaction of taking home an artwork entirely created by you.
Before or after the workshop, the medieval village of Ponti sul Mincio, which hosts the illustration studio, is also worth a stroll: located in the first hinterland of Peschiera del Garda, it was awarded the Orange Flag for its historical and cultural heritage and the characteristic atmosphere that one can breathe among the historic streets of the village.
An experience for those who wish to experiment their artistic potential in the vast world of illustrative arts, but also for those who want to express their own style without conditioning and give shape to a personal creative idea. An opportunity to try your hand at an ancient art, which still retains its tradition and manual skills. An experience also suitable for children and teenagers or families looking for an activity to do all together during the holiday.
A course to learn the art of fresco painting
- What materials are included in the course, do I need to bring something of my own?
All materials needed to participate in the fresco course are provided directly by the art studio.
- Which specific fresco techniques will be taught during the course?
Depending on the number of course participants and their level of experience, different fresco techniques will be explored. The fresco course can therefore be either basic or advanced.
- Can a friend or family member be brought along even if they are not participating in the course?
The activity is reserved for participants only. For reasons of space, but above all because of the atmosphere that is created when you start frescoing, friends and family members are not allowed.
- What additional exploration opportunities or activities are available?
The fresco course does not provide any additional activities. Those interested in creative pathways can still discover and book other NowMyPlace experiences designed for those who love art and want to stimulate their creativity.
- Will transport services be provided to reach the art studio or do I have to organise my own transport?
No transport service is provided, but you can reach the course venue by car or by other means.
