Description
Would you like to experience the magic of Lake Garda at sunset? With Stand Up Paddle (SUP) you can paddle along the southern coast of the Benaco, to admire Desenzano del Garda and its beauty surrounded by water.
You don't have to be a professional to take part in SUP courses at Lake Garda, but it is good to know how to swim. This sport, in fact, combines a surfboard with a paddle: you stand on the board, constantly balanced, paddling towards the desired destination. A fun, wellness and slow life experience that can be enjoyed both during the day and in the late afternoon, also following one of the big trends of summer holidays.
Taking part in a SUP activity in Desenzano del Garda at sunset is a unique experience to be enjoyed in this magical part of the day, when the lake is calm and the temperature mild, surrounded by the colours of the sky reflecting in the water.
But how does the SUP tour at Lake Garda work? The activity starts at the meeting point, in a garden overlooking the lake. Here, instructors introduce participants to the basics of the sport, giving directions on how to get into the water with the Stand Up Paddle and the course of the tour.
We then proceed to prepare the equipment (including boards, paddles, leash and vests). Finally, one enters the water: a short kneeling lap on the board allows one to gain confidence in this exciting sport. As soon as you feel confident, you can stand up and start the tour. The activity takes place a few metres from the shore and the instructors are always present to provide useful advice and tips.
Once the tour is over, we all return to the beach to deposit our boards. The SUP school we have chosen for this Lake Garda experience provides toilets and showers. Finally, you can freshen up with an aperitif at the panoramic bar while enjoying the sunset light again, but from a different perspective.
How does SUP activity take place in Desenzano del Garda?
- What security measures are taken during the tour, especially considering that it takes place at dusk?
SUP lessons at Lake Garda include a theoretical and practical lesson in which all safety specifications will be given. During the activity, the assistance of the guide will never be lacking, which is also indispensable for meeting any needs.
- What does the aperitif that can be purchased separately consist of?
At the end of the SUP activity on Lake Garda, you can enjoy an aperitif prepared by the staff of the kiosk on the beach of the nautical sports centre in the panoramic bar.
- What are the ideal weather conditions for participating in the tour? Will it be cancelled in case of bad weather?
SUP at Lake Garda requires stable conditions. The guide who will accompany you on your activity will assess the weather conditions from time to time. In the event of bad weather, he will notify you in good time and propose either a rescheduled trip or a cancellation with a refund.
- Can you bring your own Stand Up Paddle equipment or do you have to use the equipment provided?
For safety and maintenance reasons, equipment hire is included in the activity price.
- Will transport services be provided to reach the location or do you have to organise your own transport?
No transport service is provided for this experience. The sports centre, however, is located within a tourist village and is easy to reach by all means.
